Donzelli: Hi Paly, this is Grace Donzelli and Cee-Ning Wong of The Paly Voice, bringing you the latest news from the Paly campus for the week of Oct. 5-9.
Wong: This week was a big week for Paly sports. The girl’s water polo team played against Mountain View and Saratoga, winning 14-3 and 11-4 respectively while the boys’ water polo team beat Mountain View 10-4, but lost Monta Vista, 13-11 and the girls’ volleyball team beat Homestead, 3-0.
Donzelli: Kristin Cashore, author of Fire and Graceling, visited Paly and Books Inc.. on Wednesday. She spoke in the SSRC during seventh period. Today, Paly hosted a photojournalism forum, which featured photographers who have been published in The New York Times, National Geographic, and Newsweek. The forum was held in the Haymarket Theater during lunch, with an extended session during sixth and seventh period.
Wong: The class themes for Spirit Week are finalized. The seniors are money, juniors are “Go Bananas,” or jungle, sophomores are “super-powered” and freshmen are construction workers.
Wong: There are many fundraisers taking place at Paly, including a fundraiser that the Key Club is hosting, in which Key Club will be selling American Apparel jackets for $25 to help benefit Pediatric Trauma Prevention until Oct. 16, and another hosted by the freshmen, sophomores and cheerleaders, who will be selling pies for $16. Donzelli: Juniors, get ready for the PSAT, which will be administered next Wednesday at Paly. All other classes, remember that College Awareness Day is next Wednesday. It will be a minimum day, but remember that attendance will be taken. Seniors, remember to sign up for the workshops you wish to attend.
