The Palo Alto High School girls’ lacrosse team (4-2) is set to play against the Gunn Titans (3-3) in a rivalry game at 7 p.m. Friday at Gunn High School.
The Vikings are coming into the game with strong momentum after a 23-1 win against the Wilcox Chargers on last Wednesday, and a 19-12 win against Los Altos Eagles this Wednesday.
The Vikings are looking to continue their strong start to the season, which has them already placed third in the league.
According to Viking Head Coach Kaitlin Chiu, the Vikings are preparing for their game by working on being organized and having strong communication.
“It’s important that we play cohesively… more organized and have some more plays and a lot more dynamism,” Chiu said. “On defense, we just need to be more communicative and work on defensive footwork.”
According to Vikings senior player Sofia Singer, they still can still improve.
“We can improve on keeping up our energy and staying hyped the whole time,” Singer said. “Also in our harder games we usually start off really strong and throughout the game we get a little tired.”
According to Singer, she is excited for this rivalry game.
“I think we’re gonna destroy them,” Singer said. “We have improved a lot this year. We have a lot of new great players, our players are really great and we are working together as a team really well.”
