A new Tesla Diner location could be coming to Palo Alto, according to a recent post on X from Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO. Musk wrote on Oct. 31 that it “makes sense to open one near our Giga Texas HQ in Austin and engineering HQ in Palo Alto.”
The first Tesla Diner opened in July in Hollywood, featuring a retro-futuristic aesthetic that combines Tesla charging stations with a drive-in movie theater and a 24-hour American diner operated by robots. The Paly Voice asked students to share their thoughts on Musk’s announcement and what a Tesla Diner in Palo Alto could look like.

“I don’t think he [Elon Musk] has very much knowledge in the food industry to start a restaurant. I don’t think the food would be very good.” |

“I’ve actually gone to the Tesla diner before in LA. There were really long lines and it was really hard to get in, but the service was honestly really good. The food was really good too, though it was a little bit overpriced. I’m not exactly sure about the implications that’ll come with opening a Tesla diner, but it’ll be a fun addition for families to have while they decide on what to get for dinner.” |

“It [Tesla diner] will probably be expensive, knowing Tesla. I wouldn’t want to waste my time going to a diner since I don’t support Elon Musk.” |

“I don’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t know who would want to go to a Tesla cafe. Based on politics in Palo Alto, most people aren’t compassionate or sympathetic to the Elon cause. It’s very obvious that people here don’t like Elon, so it’s a bad idea. I don’t think I would like Tesla food.” |
