Seniors triumphed in Spirit Week’s fourth “best-dressed” contest, with juniors claiming second place, freshmen taking third and sophomores finishing fourth during brunch today on the Quad at Palo Alto High School.
For today’s “Generations” theme, freshmen dressed as “Babies,” sophomores as “Teeny Boppers,” juniors as “Professionals,” and seniors as “Senior Citizens.”
Senior Amrita Munagala said that the seniors rightfully deserved their “best-dressed” victory.
“Of course the seniors deserve to win,” Munagala said. “The seniors really brought it today.”
Munagala said that the seniors have been more spirited compared to other grades throughout the week.
“Overall the whole week we really brought it more than other grades,” Munagala said. “We really deserve to win Spirit Week because we have the most spirit.”
According to freshman “best-dressed” participant Mustafa Guler, she felt happy with the results of the contest.
“I feel really good about today because we didn’t get last place,” Guler said.
Guler said the week has been a memorable start to her first Spirit Week because of the class bonding .
“It [Spirit Week] has just brought us together because we coordinate our outfits together,” Guler said. “We all have the opportunity to show our spirit for the school in creative ways.”
According to Senior Vice President Emily Tang, the senior class showed their spirit and teamwork while preparing for today’s theme.
“Last night, float building went a little bit later than expected because all of the seniors were running around using cardboard from our float materials to make our lawn signs and it was a really great time,” Tang said.
Tang said that student’s energy today has brought a collaborative atmosphere to Spirit Week activities.
“Everyone is super hyped,” Tang said. “I love seeing everyone’s walkers and all of the canes and everyone’s been running around sharing materials, like the hairspray and the baby powder. It’s just a great time.”
