The Palo Alto Teen Advisory Board is holding a holiday toy drive for local underprivileged children until Dec. 15 at Palo Alto fire stations and City Hall.
The event, Toys For Kids, accepts unwrapped toys for all ages as well as gift cards and wrapping paper, according to the Facebook event. The drop off locations can be found on the map below.
Senior Brigid Godfrey, a member of the Teen Advisory Board, emphasizes the community focus of the event, as donated gifts will benefit Palo Alto children in need.
“The goal for the drive is to encourage Palo Altans to help Palo Altans,” Godfrey said. “The gifts go to a local organization, and that’s what makes Toys For Kids so cool because it helps kids in the Palo Alto community.”
This is the second year that the Teen Advisory Board has hosted the drive, carrying on the work of the City of Palo Alto Zoo Director Robert Steele, who had organized the event since 1999, according to a press release.
More information can be found on the event page or by contacting the Teen Advisory Board.
