After tying Los Gatos High School (5-1-1) on Wednesday, the Palo Alto High School girls’ soccer team (3-1-3) is ready for a home game against Monta Vista High School (0-7) at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.
In the beginning of the season, Paly played Monta Vista, winning 2-1, and did not do as well as the team had hoped, according to junior midfielder Priscilla Bell. For this upcoming game, the girls want to give the Matadors a better game.
“The last time we played Monta Vista, it wasn’t our strongest game,” Bell said. “What we’re looking forward to do is [bringing] up the intensity and finding a way to finish shots and have a home victory.”
On Wednesday the Vikings traveled to Los Gatos playing a close game with the final score 0-0.
“It was a very intense game,” Bell said. “We had good intensity but somehow when we were closer to their goal, passes weren’t being made.”
With the end of the season less than a month away, the girls have been able to learn from their past games and move forward as a stronger team, according to Bell.
“I think we’ve gotten used to playing with each other,” Bell said. “We’ll be able to know exactly what we need to do this time.”
