The Palo Alto High School boys’ basketball team (5-6) will play its first league season game 7 p.m. Wednesday at Los Gatos High School against the Wildcats (9-3).
After a loss to Northgate High School (4-9), the Vikings are looking to rebound and get back on track this week for their league games. Senior Noah Philips recorded four points, one assist and three rebounds against Northgate. Philips addressed the team’s tough non-league schedule.
“We played a lot of competitive teams in our non league schedule to help us prepare for league,” Philips said. “We definitely got better from game one to game 11 and will look to keep getting better as we start league play.”
Los Gatos (9-3) is coming off a win against Monta Vista High School.
Philips thinks these upcoming games will be beneficial for the Vikings to see where they stand.
“We open up by playing three of the top teams in our league,” Phillips said. “It is a good challenge and should tell us where we are at as a team.”
