The Palo Alto High School girls’ basketball team will play Mills High School at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Pinewood High School.
This will be the first game of a four-game tournament. The Vikings will play one game per day Wednesday through Saturday at Pinewood School. The following three games’ times and opponents will be based off of the result of tomorrow’s game.
Paly is looking to come out on top. According to sophomore point guard Maddy Atwater, the team is prepared to win.
“The past four times Paly has played Mills, they have lost by one [point],” Atwater said. “We are planning to break that streak, and I think our chances of that are very high.”
The schools are not to be confused even though they share the same mascot, the Viking. Paly is currently 0-3 overall and has not yet played any De Anza league games.
Mills is currently 4-1 overall and has also not yet played any Peninsula-South league games.
“We have a lot going for us, and even though we are down some key players, the tournament is gonna end well for us even if we don’t win,” Atwater said. “We are gonna learn a lot either way.”
