After a successful first round, the Palo Alto High School girls’ tennis team (18-5) will play in round two of the Central Coast Section playoffs tomorrow, where the Vikings look to take on over Saratoga High School at 2:30 p.m. on the Falcons’ home courts.
On Tuesday, the Vikings ran the table against Stevenson High School, controlling the court and earning a final score of 7-0, which advanced them to the second round of CCS.
Paly has already played Saratoga twice, winning once and losing once, according to junior Sarah Tayeri.
“We know what we need to do differently,” Tayeri said. “We know their line up and we know our lineup so we’re ready to play them tomorrow.”
The Vikings have spent all season preparing for CCS and making themselves the best team they can be, according to Tayeri.
“Previously we’ve just made sure everyone is going to practices and we’ve been working on things that we know we need to improve on,” Tayeri said.
Saratoga High School has had a successful season this year but the Vikings are optimistic for their game match tomorrow, according to junior Lucy Fox.
“The Saratoga match tomorrow is going to be tough,” Fox said. “They’re a really strong team, but we’re strong too and we definitely have a chance.”
If the Vikings win their match tomorrow against Saratoga, they will continue onto the CCS semi-finals.
