The Palo Alto High School Football team (2-1, 3-3) will take on the Milpitas Trojans (3-0, 5-1) at 7:30 p.m. in the Paly “white-out” homecoming game at Hod Ray Field.
Last year, the Vikings fell to Milpitas by a touchdown early in the season, despite a valiant comeback effort by Paly in the fourth quarter.
This year, the Vikings hope to redeem themselves and better their 3-3 record.
“They are [Milpitas is] a good team,” senior quarterback Keller Chryst said. “They’ve won a couple games in league so far. They’re always big and athletic.”
However, Chryst hopes to exploit weaknesses that the Vikings have noticed in film, he said.
“At times we see that they’re undisciplined, and make some mistakes,” Chryst said.
Floats will be rolled out at halftime, wrapping up the final day of Spirit Week, according to the Associated Student Body.
A win would bring the Vikings even with Milpitas in the De Anza league standings.
“We just have to take advantage of their mistakes and play our game,” Chryst said. “Hopefully we can come away with a win.”
The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hod Ray Field. All fans are encouraged to wear white to show Paly pride, according to senior lineman Jack Anderson.
