New Blue, Yale University’s oldest women’s a cappella group, will perform for students and parents from 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Haymarket Theater at Palo Alto High School, according to the Paly Link.
Paly alumna Margot Gerould (Class of 2011) will participate in the performance as one of the choir members, according to the same email. New Blue will also sing with Stanford a cappella groups Talisman and Fleet Street from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 at Stanford’s White Plaza.
According to the New Blue website, the group was founded as Yale’s first women’s organization in 1969, the year that Yale started admitting undergraduate women. The group has since gained worldwide renown. In 2000, its album “Can’t Stop” won Contemporary A Cappella Society’s award for Best Female Collegiate Album.
