The competition continues to be neck-and-neck in Day 4 of Spirit Week for the upperclassmen at Palo Alto High School as the week starts to pick up for Friday’s final full day events.
The Paly Voice is currently waiting for the official points to be released by the Assistant Student Body later this afternoon. Including the already released Tug-of-War and Hula Hoop results, further points will include best dressed, cheers, and deductions for bleacher cleanliness and sportsmanship.
With the week more than half over, juniors and seniors battled it out in today’s lunch rally, each placing first in one of the physical events.
Juniors were awarded first place and 400 points for their victory in Tug-of-War. They racked up another 300 points with their second place finish in the Hula Hoop competition.
Seniors evened out the juniors’ first and second place finishes with their own victories. Coming in second to the juniors in Tug-of-War awarded the seniors a strong 300 points. The seniors’ solid win in Hula Hoops gave them the 400 points they need to even the playing field.
The finishing places for the two physical lunch rally competition can be noted below.
Tug-of-war: juniors, seniors, freshmen, sophomores
Hula hoop: seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen
The rally award out the following points per competition, 400, 300, 200 and 100, respectively, for each grade’s placing.
