Offices in the Palo Alto High School Guidance Office are being rearranged to make room for the new Campus Outreach specialist, Crystal Laguna, according to Assistant Principal Kathleen Laurence.
Laguna connects students with on campus and off campus resources such as tutoring and counseling.
Laguna sees the benefits of her office being shifted to the guidance office from her former office in the library.
“It is really a benefit, not only for me, but also for the students for me to be right in guidance since I work with them directly,” Laguna said. “That is great experience for me because I am getting my masters in counseling right now so I get to see their work first hand.”
Laguna is now located in the guidance office, next to Freshman Class Guidance Counselor Susan Shultz. The office directly in front of the guidance office front desk now belongs to Junior Class Guidance Counselor Charles Taylor. Laurence relocated to the office on the left side of the Guidance Office entrance.
According to Laurence, the Guidance team decided to rearrange the offices at a recent staff meeting to include Laguna because she is a new addition to the Paly Guidance team.
