The Associated Student Body has announced that Thursday, April 28, is the deadline for all candidates intending to run for ASB office next year to submit their applications.
There is also a mandatory information session on Monday, April 25, for anyone interested in applying for an ASB position, according to ASB Vice President Uma Veerappan, who is in charge of elections. The information meeting will be held in the Student Activities Office at lunch.
The deadline for application submissions is Thursday, April 28, before the end of brunch, according to Veerappan. Anyone interested in applying should pick up two forms from the front of the SAO.
“There are two things [forms] that are right outside of the SAO,” Veerappan said. “The first is a form that they [candidates] have to fill out, and the second is the role descriptions sheet that summarizes each of the roles.”
The campaign week will be from May 16 to May 20, and ASB elections will be held on the quad between May 23 and May 25, according to Veerappan.
Accoring to Veerappan, ASB is the perfect outlet for those interested in bringing change to the Paly campus.
“ASB is a great way to not only propose but enact solutions,” Veerappan said. “I feel very fortunate to have been elected to be on the ASB for two consecutive years and feel as though everyone should make use of the opportunity to be part of such a great organization.”
Results are scheduled to be posted outside the SAO during the morning of May 26, and then interviews for candidates of appointed positions will follow.
