Junior Ben Sneider delivers a pitch to the plate. The Vikings would go on to lose the game to Wilcox by a score of 2-1.

The Palo Alto High School baseball team (11-5, 7-2) dropped a disappointing, 2-1 decision to the Wilcox High School Chargers (14-3, 5-2) on Thursday.
Both of the Chargers’ runs were unearned and came at the top of the second inning.
The Vikings had many scoring chances but only converted on one. Junior Jack Witte hit a single and the Wilcox second baseman bobbled the ball, allowing senior Will Glazier to slide around the catcher’s tag to score.
Junior Ben Sneider had a strong outing on the mound for Paly. He pitched a complete game and gave up just the two unearned runs and five hits while striking out four.
Senior Cory Tenanes gave the Vikings a glimmer of hope in the bottom of the seventh inning with a lead-off double, but was later thrown out at third base.
The Vikings travel to Santa Clara to face the same Wilcox team on Friday, April 8 at 3:30 pm.
