The Palo Alto High School theatre will hold One Acts auditions Tuesday after school in the Haymarket Theater. Callbacks will be April 6 at the same time and place as the auditions.
According to the play’s directors, groups of two or three students can audition by reading scenes from the One Acts plays.
One Acts, according to senior Stephanie Spector, the producer of the production, is the Paly theatre’s spring production and the last performance of the year.
“They [One Acts] are a series of short plays, one acts, performed together in one night,” Spector said.
According to Spector, there is a major difference between the One Acts of last year and this year. This year, One Acts is not only produced by a student, but will be shown on the full stage.
“Traditionally, One Acts are performed black box, which we did last year,” Spector said. “But we decided this year that since we already performed Our Town black box, we wanted to do One Acts on the full stage.”
Spector is optimistic that One Acts will go well.
“We have some incredible plays this year, several of which are student written,” Spector said. “One Acts are a great way to participate in theatre without having to make a heavy time commitment, and they are a great way to meet new people.”
