Books Inc. at Town and Country Village will hold a fundraiser for the Palo Alto High School library on Wednesday, Dec. 15.
Twenty percent of all proceeds from items purchased between 4 and 7 p.m. that day will go directly to the Paly library account, according to Paly librarian Rachel Kellerman. This is the third year that Books Inc. has hosted the fundraiser, Kellerman said.
According to Books Inc., the proceeds from all purchased items, including those on sale and giftcards, will benefit Paly. Students can receive a 15-percent discount year-round if they mention that they are from Paly.
“We usually raise around a thousand dollars and I use it to support the book club and other library purchases,” Kellerman said.
Kellerman also said that Paly will provide light refreshments and she will be on hand to offer reading recommendations. There will be selection of books on the library “wish-list” that people can buy to donate to the Paly library. People will also have the opportunity to buy picture books to donate directly to the Apple Tree Library project, which is a nonprofit organization that builds libraries for underprivileged schools in China, Kellerman said.
