Seniors receive their yearbooks earlier because of tradition, according to senior Maanvi Mittal, editor-in-chief of Madrono.
“Seniors end a week before the other grades so they need more time for yearbook signing,” Mittal said.
Students won’t be able to pick up yearbooks until they have returned all of their library books and textbooks and have repaid all outstanding fines, according to the Facebook event.
Additionally, this is the first time the yearbook will have a six-page supplement featuring end-of-the-year activities, according to senior Natalie Gauthier, a Madrono editor. It will be distributed on June 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
“The supplement will include photos from people asking others to prom, prom night, graduation, graduation night, and a few other end-of-the-year activities,” Gauthier said.
Students who will be out-of-town on June 21 can ask a friend to pick a supplement up for them, request that one be mailed to their house, or get one on the first day of school, according to Gauthier.
“We’re trying to avoid mailing them as much as possible,” Gauthier said.
The first 50 supplements will be free and the rest will cost $2 each. Free doughnuts and coffee will be served, according to the Facebook event.
Editor’s Note: The price of a yearbook supplement has been changed to $2. The current version of the story reflects this.
