The Palo Alto High School boys’ swim team suffered a tough loss in the fifth annual Section Challenge meet on Saturday at Paly, placing eighth out of nine participating schools.
The Vikings only obtained 102 points, falling far behind Bellarmine College Preparatory, who won the meet with 276.5 points.
Out of the 11 events, only sophomore team captain Byron Sanborn swam top ranking times. Sanborn placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:00.44, and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 1:59.34.
The Sectional Challenge consisted of 225 swimmers from 10 different schools representing the Central Coast Section, North Coast Section and Sac-Joaquin Section.
