Students who were unable to attend the recent local showings of Palo Alto will be able to see the movie on DVD when it is released on Feb. 17.
The movie was shown at CineLux Theaters in San Jose on Jan. 16, 17, and 22, which were all school nights.
In the movie, Aaron Ashmore, Ben Savage, Justin Mentell, and Johnny Lewis star as four college freshmen who are home for Thanksgiving Break. They spend their last night at home sneaking into their high school campus and dealing with their complicated love lives.
Certain scenes from the movie were filmed at Paly in room 214 and the auto shop, according to a Campanile article.
According to producer Daniel Englehardt, additional parts of the movie were filmed in Palo Alto streets, including Waverly Street, Bryant Street, and Forest Avenue. The movie was also filmed in other local areas such as Downtown Los Altos and Menlo-Atherton High School.
Palo Alto‘s director, Brad Leong, and writer, Tony Vallone, both graduated from Paly in 2005.
The movie runs 95 minutes, according to Amazon.
According to the movie’s Internet Movie Database Page, it is rated R for pervasive language, sexual content, nudity, drug and alcohol use — all involving teens.
The DVD is available preorder on Amazon for $24.99. It will also be available on Netflix starting Feb. 17.
