The Palo Alto High School Girls’ Basketball team (8-9, 1-4) fell to Wilcox High School (16-3, 6-0), 58-36, during Tuesday’s game at Paly.
A strong performance by Wilcox senior Joeseta Fatuesi caused problems for Paly, who ultimately could not catch up because the Vikings did not hit as many shots as they would have liked to, according to sophomore Maddy Atwater.
Sophomore Siggi Bengston was positive after the game and commented] on Wilcox’s difficulty level this season.
“It’s a good improvement from last game, but we still have the little things to tweak,” Bengston said. “Going forward, this is a great improvement, so I’m really excited for our next games.”
Head Coach Scott Peters commends the Vikings for playing well against a tough team.
“I thought the girls did a great job, that was a tough team and I think they competed well,” Peters said. “They tried to execute the game plan that we set out to execute and I though they did a good job of that.”
Paly next takes on Milpitas High School (6-9, 0-6) 6:15 p.m. Friday.
