A new computer login system being integrated throughout Palo Alto High School is already fully functional on all library computers, according to Paly’s librarian.
The new system will help protect students privacy, librarian Rachel Kellerman said.
“Before, if someone leaves their Schoology out, then other people could get into it and that is sort of what was happening in both lab situations,” Kellerman said. “Now it [the computers] automatically logs off and it protects your privacy.”
“This is district policy,” Kellerman added. “We’re just kind of rolling it out.”
The login system will also work well with the new printing system in the library, according to Kellerman.
“It [the login system] also plays in concert with our new printing system because we don’t have [printing] cards any longer, so once you log onto your computer here it knows your ID so it ties together,” she said.
The administration is looking to expand the system to other Paly computer labs in the near future.
