Palo Alto High School’s Associated Student Body will host two rallies tomorrow, one at lunch and one during advisory, as Spirit Week heats up with generations day.
The themes for each grade are:
- Freshmen: babies
- Sophomores: teeny boppers/greasers/50’s gear
- Juniors: sophisticates
- Seniors: senior citizens
The first rally of the day will occur during lunch on the football field, with activities including the hula hoop race and tug-o-war. The winner of each of these contests will earn 400 points, with second place receiving 300, third receiving 200 and fourth receiving 100. There will also be the daily best-dressed competition, with the winner acquiring 200 points and each place below receiving 50 points fewer.
The advisory rally, to be held in the big gym, will include a dunk contest and a 3-point contest, with 400 points up for grabs for the winner and 100 points fewer for each place following.
Other factors influencing points for each of the rallies are cheers, bleacher cleanliness and sportsmanship. For a comprehensive look into Spirit Week point allocations, visit the ASB Spirit Week website.
At the end of day three, the seniors are leading with a total of 2,125 points, juniors are in second with 1,995 points, freshmen rank third with 1,365 points and sophomores trail in last place with 925 points, according to the ASB website.
