The administration has recently taken greater steps towards trying to stop inappropriate dancing at school events. The Paly Voice asked the student’s opinions on whether they feel the administration is going about it the right way.
“I think that they should do it in a more polite way, one that is not as rude or as aggressive as they have been doing now.” -Amy Nyguen, senior
“I think that even if they try to tell us, people aren’t going to stop. They can flash their flashlights all they want and poke us and push us, but I don’t think anyone is going to listen. Back in their day, they had their own dance; it’s kind of like our dance is for this generation.” -Ana Yanez, junior
“I just think they should let people at the dances do what they want; as long as they aren’t drinking or taking drugs it should be fine.” -Brendan Maloy, sophomore
“I think that teachers and staff should try to phrase their “suggestions” not as crudely as they do now.” -Brandon Chan, sophomore
“I think they should ask you nicely and they shouldn’t provoke you or anything. They should just tap you on the shoulder and say, ‘Go somewhere else.’ ” -Kevin Dai, junior
“They should say: ‘Do you kids need condoms?’ ” -Yotam Dror, senior
“It’s like poking an angry bear with a stick; it’s just making mad people madder.”-Andrea Panayides, senior
“The administrators should start freaking themselves, so they can show everyone how grotesque it is.” -Kushal Tantry, senior
“I don’t think there is a way to stop kids from doing what they want.” -Sam Herzog, sophomore
