On March 26, comedian Daniel Nainan performed at this week’s International Festival. The Paly Voice asked people around campus how they felt about his act.
“It seems like he kind of went against what the International Festival is for. He wasn’t being racist, but he was being stereotypical.” – John Stirrat, senior
“I personally thought that it was funny, but it definitely crossed the line. I think the high school should have checked him out more before they let him perform.” -Ella Richardson, sophomore
“He was sort of funny, but a little too racist for me.” -Wes Hollingsworth, freshman
“I thought he was good, and pretty funny. People need to be more open minded.” -Joseph Rodriguez, senior
“I thought it was inappropriate to say at a high school.” -Colleen Clayton, sophomore
“I didn’t like the jokes about starving Indian children.” -Andrew Zarem, sophomore
“I thought that he was very rude. I think that he went too far and said too many racial jokes.” -Lisa Barkas, junior
“I didn’t think he was appropriate for the crowd and intent of the festival.” -Kathie Laurence, social studies teacher
