The Paly Voice asked students around campus what they thought of Libby’s, former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, conviction on four felony counts, obstruction of justice, giving false statements to the FBI, and commiting perjury to the grand jury twice.
“It was about time. He was guilty as hell. Everybody knew it; the prosecutor knew it, the judge knew it, and the jury knew it.” -Rajan Narang, junior
“I believe that he was made a scapegoat, but I am glad that he was convicted. I hope he won’t be pardoned. I hope it sends a strong message to the administration.” -Nancy Mayo, administrator
“I think it was low and it shows how our government needs to straighten out our priorities.” -Grace Morrison, sophomore
“I really hope Bush doesn’t pardon him because he really deserved it.” -Renata Cummins, senior
“Considering that he was good to the government, I don’t think he should be charged. He helped his country enough.” -Eric Hassine, junior
“It should be him and everyone else in jail, including everyone in the whole administration. Especially Dick Cheney because I think he leaked the whole thing.” -Jonathan Schwob, senior
