In Spring Spirit Week 2025, while participation may have been lower than in the fall, many students liked having the opportunity to show their school pride, take a break from academics and have some fun during a typically hectic season. The Paly Voice asked students what they thought of Spring Spirit Week.
“I think Spring Spirit Week is a good idea, it gets people into school spirit. While I think less people do it in spring, I think it’s still kind of good to get people excited about something in the spring. It takes away from all the academics that add up at the end of the year.”
— Adi Wiener, 10th grade |
“I usually like to participate, but I felt like it was kind of announced last minute, so I didn’t have a whole lot of time to plan, but generally I like the idea of school spirit. I think it is a good idea to have another spirit week in spring because it helps students have fun during a stressful time with a lot of AP testing and finals.”
— Nalani Walsh, 11th grade |
“I think Spring Spirit Week is a good idea, I just don’t think that a lot of people participate because it’s not as planned out and most people aren’t as spirited.”
— Hannah Hill, 10th grade |
“I feel that Spirit Week is a great thing to have to make everyone happy, because everyone gets to dress up and everyone gets to be spirited, and I love it a lot.”
— Ryan Stonich, 12th grade |
“I think [Spring Spirit Week] is okay but I feel ASB did a horrible job at announcing it, especially announcing the themes. So most people didn’t really notice what the themes are.”
— Parker Anderson, 12th grade

“I thought Spring Spirit Week was pretty good overall, I thought some people dressed up, but I definitely think that ASB could have advertised it a little better, because only a few people knew the week before, and so I Thought that could have definitely boosted the people that participate. But overall, I think it was a very successful Spirit Week.”
— Augustus Soedarmono, 12th grade

“I think it’s a great experience, so many people are having a great time really just doing what they love. I think normal Spirit Week is 100 times better because more people are more hyped for it, because it’s the start of the school year, everybody is new. I feel like in this Spirit Week everybody is kind of done with the school year, and want to just get to summer, and they are just feeling so busy with all the schoolwork so they’re not really focusing that much on the Spirit Week.”
