A student pulled a fire alarm in the Student Center at the beginning of school today at around 8:15 a.m. As usual, students were evacuated onto the football field until the fire department was available to verify that the school was safe for students.
“The fire alarm was pulled by some student in the Student Center,” said fire captain Paul Schulz, who was in charge of the only fire truck that arrived at the scene. “We don’t know who it is, but if someone does, tell us.”
So far this year, not including todays, there have been two fire alarms, neither of which have been drills. The first one which occurred on Sept. 19 was caused by a hanging spider web, and the second on Oct. 31 was caused by a fog machine.
In the previous fire incidents, student were not able to find their 4th period teachers and did not know where to stand on the football field. Additionally, in the second incident of the year, the fire department never showed up to let the school know what was happening. As a result, both incidents were deemed unsuccessful by the administration.
