ASB to host winter-themed music festival on the quad
January 22, 2019
Following the success of last semester’s Quadside Lands, Palo Alto High School’s Associated Student Body will introduce yet another music festival, Sko Globe, to take place on the quad this week.
Sko Globe, like past events, will take place during lunch beginning today and will feature student performers such as Oscar’s Tribute Band, Garage Mahal, and Paly K-Pop club, according to the Paly ASB website.
Sko Globe also includes other numerous other activities prepared for students, including a Paly pride day on Friday where students are encouraged to wear Paly gear, and with seniors also having the option to wear camo.
Aside from student performances and theme days, Paly ASB members, senior Sarthak Pant, ASB social commissioner, have been hard at work planning various other hands-on activities.
“While we are keeping some things secret as a surprise for students, we have plenty of winter themed activities planned like arts and crafts, face glitter, and face painting,” Pant said.
Many performers have also been working hard preparing for the event. Junior Rainy Yan, the president of the Paly K-Pop club, expressed her excitement for the club’s first performance this year.
“We’ve been preparing dances since last semester, and we’re going to put together dances we prepared last semester into a performance,” Yan said. “We’re very excited to perform, since it’s one of our first performances this semester. We’re all looking forward to it very much.”
The winter-themed celebration will run in conjunction with the Winter Rally today.

![Shounak Dharap, president of the school board of Palo Alto Unified School District, announced Friday morning that Superintendent Don Austin separated from his superintendent position at PAUSD. Corbin Dodd, an Ethnic Studies and AP Seminar teacher at Palo Alto High School, said that Austin's separation from the district surprised him and his colleagues. "Negotiations are happening right now, so there's a lot of talk about the school board and the superintendent, but it [Austin's separation] wasn't on my radar, and I don't think it was on the radar of any of the teachers I've spoken to," Dodd said.](https://palyvoice.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_7950-300x225.png)
