Palo Alto High School students show their support for going green this morning as they bike, rollerblade, skateboard and walk onto campus participating in the annual Walk & Roll Day tradition. Walk & Roll Day is an annual event which encourages eco-friendly and physically active methods of commuting to school, according to Palo Alto Unified School District’s website.
In previous years, parent volunteers handed out candy to those who walked or rolled to school. However, due to the new school policy banning the distribution of candy on campus, students received colorful ‘Go Green!’ stickers instead. Despite the change, Walk & Roll Day was still a hit with hundreds of students opting to take the “green” route to school.
