Less than two months after former Head Coach Jake Halas resigned from his position, the Palo Alto High School football team has filled his vacancy.
According to Athletic Director Kathi Bowers, the Vikings have hired former Los Gatos High School and Arizona State University quarterback Danny Sullivan as Halas’ replacement.
Sullivan played for the the Arizona State Sun Devils after graduating from Los Gatos, where he led the Wildcats to a Central Coast Section Medium School title in 2006, according to thesundevils.com. His tenure with the Sun Devils included nine starts during the 2009 season.
According to Bowers, Sullivan most recently served as a quarterbacks coach for the Los Gatos High School football team, a position he held for six seasons.
The Vikings, who finished the 2015 season with a 5-7 record, 3-3 in the De Anza League, saw their season come to an end in the semi-finals of the CCS playoffs when they lost, 42-0, to the Milpitas High School Trojans.
