After Jada Pinkett Smith, an African-American actress, announced on Twitter that she will boycott the Oscars on Feb. 28 because of a lack of African-American nominees, awareness of racial diversity in the media has increased.  Many have joined her cause, which begins to raise a fundamental question: Is the media industry specifically in film/television diverse enough?

The Paly Voice asked Palo Alto High School students how they felt about racial diversity in the media, and more specifically in the TV and movie industries and its effects on students.
