Controversy remains over Congress’ vote in favor of the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015, which would repeal portions of the Affordable Care Act and, most notably, defund reproductive health organization Planned Parenthood. The bill passed 52-47 in the Senate and 240-189 in the House of Representatives, and is expected to be vetoed by President Obama. The Paly Voice asked students and staff for their views on the possibility of defunding the organization.
