The 34th Palo Alto Festival of the Arts submerged downtown Palo Alto in color as hundreds of California artists convened for the annual event on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival featured over 300 artists from across the state who filled University Avenue with art including ceramics, watercolor, photography and sculptures. In addition, the Italian Street Painting Expo showcased chalk art from sixty artists, according to the event’s website.
According to wildlife photographer Pat Toth-Smith, who has attended the festival nearly 10 times, the festival is one of the Bay Area’s best fine art shows.
“It’s a wonderful art show,” she said. “There’s a lot of artists that fly in from all over to do this show. It’s a very popular show and they [the organizers] always have a good mix of different artists.”
