Midway through the season, the Palo Alto High School softball team (14-8, 4-4) is looking to finish the rest of the season on a high note after a mostly successful start.
Senior captain Casey Glassford is satisfied with how the season has gone up until this point.
“The season [has] been going well,” Glassford said. “Our record is good and we’ve been playing really well. Our offense is great right now.”
Freshman Sophie Frick agreed with Glassford’s assessment and attributes much of the success to teamwork.
“In every game, we have never given up and we give it all until the last pitch,” Frick said. “We work extremely well as a team and it has definitely paid off this season.”
While there have been numerous positives surrounding girls’ softball this season, Glassford and Frick both agreed that there is always room for improvement.
“For the rest of the season, we just need to keep tightening up our defense,” Glassford said.
“Working on the little details can make a big difference when you play such as focusing on the ball before anything else, and footwork on batting/fielding,” Frick added.
The girls’ next game is at 4 p.m. today at Monta Vista High School.
