The Palo Alto High School girls’ lacrosse team (8-1) will play Saint Francis High School Lancers (7-9-1) at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Paly lacrosse field.
Last season, the Vikings dramatically beat the Lancers 10-9. The Vikings were trailing and came back to win the game in the final quarter. The year prior, the Lancers beat Paly in triple overtime for the championship.
Senior Paige Anderson notes the tension between the two teams.
“It’s really fun to play Saint Francis, because they’ve always been our rival,” Anderson said.
Anderson hopes to start a winning streak against Saint Francis this year.
“We’re focusing on winning the draw, handling the ball well, and possessing on attack,” Anderson said. “I’m hoping this year that it won’t be as close as last year but will still be a good game.”
