On Thursday, Paly’s Chika Kasahara finished first in the Juniors’ race with a time of 19:13 on the 2.95-mile Crystal Springs course; the time was fast enough to place Chika 4th amongst all 261 high school girls.

[[nid:28351 left full]]Palo Alto High School’s girls’ cross country team placed third in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League meet Tuesday at the Crystal Springs course and will advance to the Nov. 12 Central Coast Section meet.
The top seven runners — freshmen Sophia Robinson and Katie Foug, sophomore Audrey DeBruine, juniors Chika Kasahara and Nora Rosati and seniors Rachelle Holmgren and Jessica May–will run at Crystal Springs.Coach Paul Jones will continue to train additional runners as substitutes for the upcoming CCS meet. “The girls hope to make it to states,” senior runner Lydia Guo said.
