Paly musicians will perform at the Mid Peninsula Community Media Center tonight starting at 7 p.m.
The event is being organized by Paly band Thanks For Asking in conjunction with the release of their first album You’re Welcome, according to Media Center Youth Services Coordinator Brad Sanzenbacher. CDs will be available for purchase at the concert.
The Media Center, located at 900 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto, will feature three musical performances from current and former Paly students. In addition to Thanks for Asking, performers include former Paly student Molly Tuttle and The Aisling Project, a band composed of Paly students Jay Vertin, Gabe Wolf and Jacob Lauing.
“Teens from the Media Center’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC), a group of high school students from across the Peninsula, are co-organizing the concert.“ said Sanzenbacher. “The YAC will be serving as technical crew for the evening, operating cameras and directing the live webcast of the show.”
“High school students need a clean, well-lighted, well-staffed place to perform and to listen to music,” said Media Center Programming Manager Becky Sanders. “The fact that kids do most of the work and crew the show makes it pretty much a youth produced event.”
Admission is free for all ages, though there is a suggested donation of $5 to the Media Center. The concert will also be streamed live starting at 7:00 p.m.
