The Palo Alto High School baseball team (11-5, 7-2) dropped a disappointing, 2-1 decision to the Wilcox High School Chargers (14-3, 5-2) on Thursday.Both of the Chargers’ runs were unearned and came at the top of the second inning.The Vikings had many scoring chances but only converted on one. Junior Jack Witte hit a single and the Wilcox second baseman bobbled the ball, allowing senior Will Glazier to slide around the catcher’s tag to score.Junior Ben Sneider had a strong outing on the mound for Paly. He pitched a complete game and gave up just the two unearned runs and five hits while striking out four.Senior Cory Tenanes gave the Vikings a glimmer of hope in the bottom of the seventh inning with a lead-off double, but was later thrown out at third base.The Vikings travel to Santa Clara to face the same Wilcox team on Friday, April 8 at 3:30 pm.
