The Palo Alto High School boys’ tennis team defeated Mountain View High School, 5-2, at home on Monday.
Paly swept the doubles on its way to victory in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League match up. Seniors Lucas Fodor and Scott Monismith battled for a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Senior Andy Hammer and sophomore Mason Haverstock won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot while junior Justin Wang and sophomore Charlie Dulik rounded out the doubles with a 6-2, 7-5 win.
Freshman Austin Leung, lost 5-7, 1-6 at No. 1 singles and freshman Blake Smith lost 2-6, 5-7 at No. 2 singles. Senior Chirag Krishna and junior Dar Bareket-Shavit both won their matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively. Krishna won by forfeit as Mountain View lacked a fourth singles player while Bareket-Shavit didn’t drop a game on his way to a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
