The Palo Alto High School Red Cross Club will hold a bake sale fundraiser tomorrow in front of Borders in downtown Palo Alto, according to co-president Neena Pai.
Starting at 10 a.m., club members will sell a variety a variety of home-baked goods to help raise funds for disaster relief efforts through the American Red Cross and bring awareness towards the effects of disasters, said Pai.
“The money we raise can be used to fund disaster relief locally, as close as San Bruno, or worldwide, to help people like the flood victims in Pakistan,” Pai said.
Aside from fundraising for the Red Cross, Pai hopes this event serve as a bonding experience for the attending club members.
“Club events are really fun, and we’ve taken away some great memories from past events,” Pai said. “Fundraisers are a great way to have fun while helping the community.”
The club will host the bake sale from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Due to the small window of time allotted for the fundraiser, Pai said the club may hold another bake sale in the near future.
