Some students with more than three cuts received a rare bit of good news after winter break. Teacher on Special Assignment Trinity Klein pardoned some students from the January Saturday School if they had made a good faith effort to attend previous ones, according to Klein.
“There is a pretty steady list of about 200 kids on our Saturday School,” Klein said. “We were hoping that by doing the January amnesty we would be able to clean [it up].”
Klein said that she tried pick students who have attended Saturday School before but still have hours left to serve.
“We like the idea that you go, you serve your time and you move on with your life,” Klein said.
As for whether or not we can expect an action like this again, the administration is being tight-lipped about the issue.
“We have yet to decide if we’ll do this again, but don’t hold your breath,” Klein said.
