Starting this Thursday, Tutorial will be split into two 30-minute periods in which students will be allowed to visit two teachers if they wish.
According to receptionist Vallen Queen, students will report to the start of Tutorial as usual, scan in with their student identification cards and complete the first part of Tutorial.
After the first 30 minutes, an announcement will alert students to move to different classrooms if they wish to do so. Students who choose to move to another room will then be required once again to sign in with their identification cards. The Academic Resource Center will not allow students to come only for the second part of tutorial.
The library, ARC and physical education department will still require students to obtain a Tutorial pass prior to admission.
Initial reaction to the announcement from students was positive.
“That would be a good idea because I always end up finishing my homework for the first class I’m in and I have a lot of extra time, but I can’t get other homework done because I don’t have the textbook for another subject with me,” junior Kyle Samos said.
Junior Bryan Young agreed, “I think you can get a lot more accomplished by visiting multiple teachers.”
Students are encouraged to send comments and suggestions regarding Tutorial to [email protected].
