The Palo Alto High School boys’ water polo team (1-0) won its first league game, 9-6, against Los Gatos High School (0-1) on Tuesday night at Los Gatos.
The Vikings came out firing with multiple players contributing to their nine-goal score. Four goals came from senior driver Ken Wattana, while sophomore driver Bret Pinsker contributed three.
“We did a good job with threats on offense, but we had a few simple mistakes here and there,” senior driver Jack Smale said. “Overall we did a good job moving the ball around.”
The Vikings will next play Los Altos High School at 6:45 on Thursday evening at Los Altos.
