The first annual Day on the Green, celebrating the end of Advanced Placement and Standardized Testing and Reporting examinations, will take place immediately after school this Friday on the quad.
The event, organized by Palo Alto High School’s Associated Student Body, features musical performances and ice cream sundaes, according to an ASB information packet. An ice cream sundae bar will be available for both students and faculty, and, yes, the ice cream sundaes are free for everyone.
“ASB came up with this idea as an attempt to help unify students through celebrating the end of AP testing,” Hanna Brody, ASB social commissioner, said. “Mrs. [Student Activities Director Kindel] Launer proposed the idea to the class and we all decided it would be a worthwhile event.”
Local bands Late Notice and Furious George, senior Conor Ney and the Paly Bhangra Club will all perform throughout the event, which is slated to end at 4 p.m.
“ASB is really excited to host this new event for the Paly student body,” Launer said. “Everyone has worked really hard this year.”
