The following is a transcript of the above multimedia.
Cee-Ning Wong: Hi, I’m Cee-Ning Wong.
Shannon Lee: And I’m Shannon Lee.
Cee-Ning: You’re listening to another episode of VoiceWaves.
Shannon: As in previous years, Paly was splattered with various colors as students and faculty members dressed in their respective class colors on the third day of Spirit Week.
Cee-Ning: The freshmen showed their spirit in all orange while the sophomores sported lots of red. The juniors, true to their class, wore yellow while the seniors boasted their seniority in Paly green. Faculty members had the freedom to choose which color they would like to wear.
Shannon: This year, ASB decided to break the tradition of the Thursday morning rally. Instead of the Thursday morning rally, the rally was held during advisory on Wednesday. The classes participated in the usual cheer off competition and the class with the loudest cheers gained the most points. Students gave it their all to do their best to show their enthusiasm and creative cheers.
[cheering]Cee-Ning: The activity was a 3-point shooting contest. A boy and girl from each class, excluding members of the basketball teams, were to each shoot a 3-pointer and the class who shot the 3-pointers first won the competition. The seniors dominated over the freshmen, and went on to compete with the sophomores. The seniors came in first, the sophomores second, followed by the juniors and freshmen.
Shannon: The rally started out with a performance by the Paly special education class.
[a song by the special education class]Shannon: The senior members of Paly’s Men’s Chorus followed by introducing the new Paly Fight Song.
[Fight Song by Men’s Chorus]Cee-Ning: An egging incident at Gunn High School on Tuesday night caused the Wednesday lunch rally to be canceled. There is also a possibility that the Spirit Week festivities will not continue on Thursday or Friday at lunch. Nonetheless, the classes will still be dressing as different generations. The freshmen will dress up as babies, sophomores as teeny boppers or teenagers from the 50s, the juniors as sophisticates and seniors as senior citizens.
Shannon: This has been Cee-Ning Wong and Shannon Lee of the Paly Voice. Have a good one Paly, and enjoy the rest of Spirit Week!
