Scores remain unchanged from Tuesday as the Paly administration and the Associated Student Body work out the implications of egg wars, according to ASB President Osceola Ward.
“We are currently waiting for information from the administration and scores are not available at this time,” he said.
The administration canceled the lunchtime rally in response to the egg fights between juniors and seniors last night. However, the rally during advisory that replaced the Thursday morning one still proceeded as scheduled.
Students dressed in their class colors filled the big gym bleachers for the advisory rally. Freshmen wore orange, sophomores dressed in red, juniors sported yellow, and seniors were decked out in green.
The event began with singing performances by the special needs students and the Viking men’s choir, who sang the new Paly fight song. This song will be played at future sporting events, parades and rallies.
Next, each grade sent a boy and girl representative not on a Paly basketball team to compete in a shooting contest. The first pair to each make a three-point shot won the round.
Sophomores Star Strul and BJ Boyd and juniors Graham Marchant and Alex Kershner competed in the first round, with the sophomores emerging victorious. They lost to seniors Drew Pearson and Brianna Boyd, who scored their basket a second before the sophomores made theirs.
The juniors competed with the freshmen for third place. Kershner and Marchant redeemed themselves by scoring quick baskets before freshmen Mathias Schmutz and Stephanie Allen could.
A cheer-off followed the shooting contest. Each grade fought to scream louder than one another with clever rhymes and short chants. ASB will announce which grade won when it releases the score standings.
Tomorrow is generation day: freshmen are dressing up as babies, sophomores as teenyboppers (50s attire), juniors as sophisticates, and seniors as senior citizens.
Assistant Principal Todd Feinberg said that the administration will make an announcement regarding the status of tomorrow’s rally before lunchtime tomorrow.
