The Paly boys’ water polo team (5-7, 2-1 SCVAL) suffered a tough 17-7 loss on Tuesday against Los Altos High School.
The Viking offense could not get going in the first quarter and started off at an early disadvantage. Palo Alto was forced to take inconsistent shots from the outside, enabling the Los Altos Eagles to make counter attacks for easy goals.
The Vikings struggled to jump start their offense and were trailing in goals by the half.
Senior captain Bobby Abbott exemplified Paly’s excellent scoring with a backhand from the seven-meter mark that ricocheted off the post for a goal. Abbott contributed two goals, while sophomore Aaron Zelinger and freshman Bret Pinsker also scored for the Vikings.
The Vikings’ next game is at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Los Gatos.
