Paly’s varsity boys’ basketball team’s championship hopes came to an end as it fell to the Mills Vikings in the second round of the playoffs today at Mills High School, 55-47.
Paly led, 22-21, at the half and expanded its lead early into the third quarter, but Mills came back with accurate 3-point shooting and solid defense.
The game was close until late in the fourth quarter, when a Mills 3-pointer forced Paly to foul and Mills pulled away.
“It was a tough game,” head coach Andrew Slayton said. “They [Mills] spread the ball around and hit their shots.”
Junior forward Kevin Brown led Paly’s team with 13 points and sophomore guard Max Schmarzo had 11, three of which were 3-pointers.
A more in-depth account of the game will follow shortly.
