The Model Citizen Club is hosting a spring fashion show at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the Haymarket Theater.
According to senior club president Arianna Governatori, the show is open to everyone, and student band Furious George will provide entertainment between sets of clothing.
This is the second fashion show that the club has organized since the club was created. According to Governatori, all proceeds will be donated to Playpumps International, an organization that builds play pumps in African villages that do not have access to clean water, Governatori said. The play pumps serve as water pumps and also merry-go-arounds for kids.
“Playpumps allows villages to have access to clean water and save lives,” Governatori said. “It also frees women of the obligation to find clean water, has anti-AIDS information on the billboards and serves as an incentive for children to go to school.”
The clothes that will be featured in the show include designs by Governatori and senior vice president Yuko Kanai.
“My inspiration comes from seeing the fabrics,” Governatori said. “The color palette and materials gives me ideas for unique outfits.”
Governatori and seniors Elizabeth Petit and Elizabeth Scott, among other Paly students, will model the clothes.
“The show will be a fun event to watch as well as helps charity, so I think it would be entertaining for students to see,” Governatori said.
Tickets cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
